Increase breeding assistance and reduce logistics costs
At the executive meeting of the provincial government held yesterday, 11 requirements were put forward with the aim of stabilizing the price of pork, ensuring food safety, and increasing support for breeding.
According to the Provincial Department of Commerce, the purchase price of pigs in our province has been rising since last June. After May this year, the rise accelerated. At the end of June, the purchase price of pigs was 20 yuan/kg, up more than 100% year on year. The price of pork also increased along the way. The wholesale price of pork in June was 26.52 yuan/kg, up more than 100% year on year, up 42.96% from January this year.
Due to the continuous increase in meat prices recently, the market sales have declined recently. On July 1, the transaction volume of the wholesale market in the province decreased by 36.86% compared with the previous week (June 17).
With regard to the rising price of meat, the meeting yesterday put forward 11 points to calm down the price of pork. Zhao Zhengyong said that pig farmers are also worried about the wide fluctuation of pork prices. They also want the market to be stable and do not want the prices to rise and fall sharply
It is understood that in the second half of 2007, the state issued some policies to support pig production, some of which have not been implemented so far. "Don't forget the farmers when the situation is good," Zhao Zhengyong warned officials at all levels.
This time, support for production will be carried out from the aspects of increasing insurance, helping enterprises to obtain loans, and monitoring the price and quality of feed. "Financial institutions should study the loan support for pig breeding," Zhao Zhengyong said, and offered a certain amount of funds to discount interest.
Due to the increase in feed prices, some farmers reported that "pigs eat more than people eat", for which Zhao Zhengyong asked to strictly monitor the price and quality of feed.
At present, in the price of pork, logistics costs account for a considerable amount of expenses. Therefore, "the expired highway toll stations should be canceled and the highway toll should be reduced." Zhao Zhengyong stressed that the circulation costs must be effectively reduced.
In response to the recent food safety problems, Zhao Zhengyong called for a severe crackdown according to law, "we should not let the food safety problems damage the credibility of the government".
